Good Thoughts

“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”  - Marcel Proust

True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new.  -- Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values. - Ayn Rand

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition. - Martha Washington

“There's nothing like deep breaths after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons.”  ― Stephen Chbosky

Simple Happiness

It was a really great day today!! As the interviewer announced "Congratulations, your child has passed the entrance examinations", and she further continued that my child has surpassed beyond the average level. I was just happy that my 7 year old daughter excelled in the tests that was conducted in order for her to be transferred because ever since she started school, she has been transferring schools and this would be the third school for her. Furthermore, my 11 year old daughter also passed the entrance examination!!  It would be a good thing that both of them would be on the same school, supporting each other. As a single parent, I expect myself to be able to provide full support on their education, mental, emotional support, every aspect of their lives, that I expect nothing but the best.  I am content that these would add up to their confidence.

Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

Happiness

True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The great blessings of mankind are with us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he was not.
- Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Whoever is happy will make others happy, too.
- Mark Twain

Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others.
- Buddha

Happiness

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you -- Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864)

It is the chiefest point of happiness that a man is willing to be what he is -- Desiderius Erasmus (1465-1536)

A happy life consists of tranquility of mind -- Cicero

Thoughts on Happiness

"Happiness is the absence of striving for happiness" -- Chuang-tzu

"Happiness consists more in small conveniences of pleasures that occur everyday, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life." -- Ben Franklin (1706-1790)

Happiness is inside us, in our minds, in our thoughts. It is not external material things or experiences, but the enjoyment of our thoughts and feelings. This is good because our thoughts, and therefore our happiness, are up to us.

Proverbs 15:30 Smiling faces make you happy and good news makes you feel better.

I finally figured out the only reason to be alive is to enjoy it- Rita May Brown

Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling. - Margaret B. Runbeck.

The secret to happiness is not in doing what one likes to do, but in liking what one has to do. - Unknown
